STEM Trip
60 Y7 students enjoyed an enrichment/STEM day at Edge Hill University on Wednesday. The Powering Transformation event is a one-day workshop developed by The Talent Foundry, and supported by Dell Technologies. The workshop gave students the opportunity to use Dell technology in a collaborative problem-solving challenge with a focus on community activism and local social issues. Additionally, they toured many of the departments and facilities at Edge Hill, which gave them a brief insight into life on campus. The favourite department visited was Engineering, where students saw robotic dancing and tried state of the art virtual reality headsets and software. It was a full day for our students with The Global Problem-solving Challenge being won, with their campaign presentation - Save Our Oceans, by Frankie Greer 7F2, Jacob Griffiths 7G1, Will Hanson 7G2, Jamie Linklater 7R1, Tom Steele 7F1, Ollie Toolan 7G1 and Rhys Woods 7F2. Special mention also goes to Harry Williams 7G1, for going above and beyond and being identified as being the best student at The Talent Foundry workshop.
