They say “Time is free but priceless”, so thanks for your time spent enthusiastically interacting (educating and entertaining) with our Mosslands Engineers of the Future. I’m minded to hope all exhibitors at MACH2024 get a spectacular return on their investments. In addition to their day jobs, they all hold shares in Wirral dental practices and the opportunity to drum up business for them by overloading our students with sweets. I guess it just can’t be missed! Learning outside the classroom never tasted so sweet for our students. Again, thanks to all the staff and students who attended, they all took a lot from the day! One student did say "I loved our trip on Friday because it was so close to a once-in-a-lifetime experience" - so I guess I've still got room for improvement! Kaizen my Friends Kaizen! MNL.


 

As a DT teacher (CNP), I had the pleasure and thrill of attending MACH 2024 with Year 7 and 8 students. It was an eye-opener to see state-of-the-art manufacturing in front of your eyes. From huge laser cutters, metal presses and, of equal importance to some, chocolate moulding, delivery and tempering machine.

It gave our students a real insight into how manufacturing takes place using a variety of materials, the precision and speeds involved and the range of products that are manufactured in this country is formidable. So many companies were more than happy to discuss their products and machinery with the students whilst always encouraging them to study design, engineering and all the STEM subjects. We were very proud of the conduct, attitude and manners our students displayed, and I hope to visit this exhibition again in 2026, with a group of GCSE students, and open their eyes to manufacturing, which is not only important but also rewarding. It was such a positive and informative day, with lots of interactive displays, optimistic and encouraging people and endless ideas for both students' career paths and even GCSE projects.
