Benchmark 2

Your School:

Encourages parents and carers to use career path and labour market information to aid the support given to their children.

Evaluation during work experience planning has shown that parental engagement needs development and there is a plan in place to encourage more parents to engage with our programme and how to get support

Benchmark 3

Your school: 

Provides a careers programme that:

Collects and maintains accurate data for each pupil on their destinations for 3 years after they leave school

2023-24 is the 3^rd year we have asked our leavers for permission to contact them for 3 years to gain destination data.

A google form is sent to those who consent on the 1^st working day in July to request data which is then analysed.

Consent and response is sporadic although records are maintained.

All/the overwhelming majority of students by the time they leave school, have meaningfully experienced career learning as part of:

English lessons

Maths lessons

Science lessons

The 2024 audit has evidenced the need to further develop cross curricular careers and embed employability and LMI within lessons

Benchmark 5

All/the overwhelming majority of pupils: 

Have at least one meaningful encounter with an employer every year they are at your school

Year 7 and 9 do not currently have a recorded universal encounter.

We are looking at meaningful enterprise activities that will achieve this objective

Benchmark 6

All/the overwhelming majority of pupils: 

Have had a meaningful experience of a workplace by the end of year 11  

Have obtained a meaningful experience of a workplace during years 12 and 13

A workplace visit opportunity needs to be provided for all of year 12 and quotes are being sourced

Benchmark 7

By the time they leave school all/the overwhelming majority of pupils:

Have had at least two meaningful visits to universities to meet staff and students

We are currently working on a plan to take students to an establishment for subject specific visits in year 10/11. This will complement the universal offer in year 8.

Our Careers and 6th Form Careers Google Classrooms continue to be used to publicise events pupils can access in their own time. Pupils are encouraged to record these activities on Unifrog.
