Attendance
This week, Mr Holland's form, 7F2, received the award for the form with the best attendance in school. Well done to Mr Holland and 7F2 for this wonderful team effort! We hope you enjoyed your sweets and chocolates. Which form will win the trophy next time?

Mr Corf's form, 7R2, has also been given a prize this week because this form has the highest number of students with 100% attendance. The fact that so many boys in this form have attended school every day is a great achievement. Well done to those boys.

University Trip
Last Thursday, a group of Year 12 maths students took part in the "Engineering is for Everyone" day at LJMU. The students were given the opportunity to talk to current university students and lecturers, as well as experience some of the activities they would take part in regularly if they studied for a degree at the university. Highlights of the day included playing a boat racing game on a £1.5m boat simulator, learning about how to make the most money on real estate, getting a private tour of the LJMU Formula 1 team and playing with an authentic Boston Dynamics robot dog.
The students enjoyed the day and several are now considering applying to LJMU.

Library
Our wonderful students continued to volunteer at Wallasey Village Community Library last Thursday and Friday to help get the books ready for opening. Our students worked incredibly hard, stamping and sticking date labels in many of the books and by the end of the week had processed 3,500 books altogether. We are super proud of these boys and the time they gave to help with the community project.
Year 7 Spelling Bee competition will be taking place this half-term and the students have a chance to win points and prizes for themselves and their form groups. The first round is tomorrow morning in the library during am reg.

Food Allergy Awareness
Please could all parents/carers ensure we have up-to-date allergy and dietary information for their son. In all school years, students may be involved in tasting and cooking a variety of different foods. We will accommodate for allergies and dietary needs, but only if we are made aware beforehand.
Please contact the school office with updated information on 0151 638 8131 or via email admin@mosslands.wirral.sch.uk

Reporting an Absence
Parents must telephone the school attendance line (0151 638 8131, option 1) on the first day of absence before 8.45am and on each subsequent day of absence. Alternatively, you can email attendance@mosslands.wirral.sch.uk. Please do not use the admin@mosslands email or the contact school option on the My Child at School app as these do not go directly to attendance, and you may still get a truancy call. It is our duty to keep your child safe, so if you do not inform us, you will receive a truancy call. You will receive 6 further calls until you respond. The number which will display as an incoming call is a Sheffield number, 0114 303 4042.

Medication in School
If you have any questions or concerns regarding medication in school, please contact the SEND Department. Students should not bring medication into school and any medication should be registered at reception. If your child is diagnosed as being asthmatic, following on from medical guidelines, please ensure they have an inhaler on then at all times and that we hold a spare within school. Many thanks.
