Science Week

As a school with a proud reputation for engaging the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math’s) subjects it was a massive pleasure as a school to (lead by the Science department and our wonderful cadets' team) host a Science fair to celebrate the start of British Science Week.

British Science Week, ran from March 7th to 16th, and was  a ten-day celebration of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). Organized by the British Science Association, the week featured engaging events and activities across the UK to inspire people of all ages. It was an amazing opportunity to share the incredible possibilities these subjects offer.

Supporting and promoting Science is essential—not just for those pursuing careers in science or statistics, but for fun and understanding of the modern world we live in.

Thankfully, perceptions are changing that Science subjects are just for the “super smart” or that they’re “nerdy.” , and British Science Week provided a fantastic opportunity to challenge outdated notions. STEM is for everyone. It’s creative, it’s exciting, and it’s full of opportunities to make a real difference in the world.

Mosslands staff and students worked with several local primary and secondary schools as part our Ogden Trust partnership and with the sponsorship from British Science Week and Educake allowed us to pull out all the stops. All the pupils, our staff and visitors had such a rewarding day, there’s nothing more rewarding than seeing a child’s face light up when they realize how much fun and exciting Science is.
