We are thrilled to announce some exciting news for the upcoming academic year starting in September! The Mosslands School, supported by British Esport, will be offering a BTEC Level 3 National Extended Certificate in Esports!
This fantastic new course will provide students with a comprehensive understanding of the esports industry, covering areas such as game design, event management, marketing, and the skills needed for a career in this rapidly growing field. The BTEC Level 3 qualification is equivalent to one A Level and will provide students with a strong foundation for university or direct entry into the esports industry.
In addition to the BTEC course, we will also be launching Esports clubs for students of all ages and abilities. These clubs will provide a fun and engaging environment for students to develop their gaming skills, learn teamwork, and connect with other students who share their passion for esports.
Furthermore, we are excited to announce our intention to enter national esports competitions! This will give our students the opportunity to showcase their talent, gain valuable experience, and compete against other schools from across the country.
We believe that esports offers a range of benefits for students, including:
- Developing strategic thinking and problem-solving skills: Esports require players to think critically and adapt to changing situations.
- Improving teamwork and communication skills: Many esports titles require effective communication and collaboration between team members.
- Enhancing hand-eye coordination and reaction time: Esports can help improve these important physical skills.
- Providing opportunities for personal growth and development: Participating in esports can build confidence and leadership skills.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact the school office at admin@Mosslands.wirral.sch.uk. For our Year 11 students they should speak to Miss Carty if they’d like to know more or express an interest in enroling for this course for sixth form.
