Oxford and Cambridge Student Conference
Year 12 students attended the Oxbridge regional conference.
Mr Davies Head of 6th Form and Mr Taylor Gifted and Talented Coordinator along with a small number of Year 12 students attended the Oxbridge regional conference. As two of the world's leading universities, Oxford and Cambridge strive to recruit the brightest and best students irrespective of background. In order to achieve this, both universities have developed a range of outreach activities aimed at demystifying the application process and promoting the benefits of higher education. The Oxford and Cambridge Regional Student Conferences are amongst the largest of these events.
These conferences are designed to provide up-to-date information on the application and admissions procedure at both institutions as well as providing an insight into student life. The events are aimed at students who have already completed their GCSE examinations and are now undertaking further study.
The conference covered:
- Courses available at Oxford and Cambridge
- Applying to Oxford and Cambridge
- Student life
- Student finance and careers
- Interviews
Admissions tutors, academic staff and current undergraduates from both universities were on hand to answer students’ questions.
