Massive congratulations to all the boys who have participated in a range of courses this year and received a certificate during our Celebration of Achievement evening on Thursday 8th July 2010.

 

In particular, WELL DONE to the Journey of Your Mind group who won the Princess Diana Award for Excellence. 

 

The Diana Certificate of Excellence recognises the outstanding contribution of young people, aged 12-18, who work together in groups to improve their communities, organisations and schools. The certificate rewards those who go above and beyond to benefit others; by raising money for charity, or campaigning on a local issue or mentoring younger children in their schools or youth groups.

 

Journey of your Mind have been chosen for the Award because of their commitment and work in the field of supporting other students and the community. This includes their participation and implementation of emotional well-being programmes in schools, using relaxation techniques and sound therapy. The group strive to raise awareness of health, well-being and community issues, sharing strategies to make a safer community. The boys have trained to be Young Sports Leaders and offer friendship and support to more vulnerable students, always going the extra mile to help others. The boys have been committed to fundraising and organising events both in and out of school time.
