Top Performing Sixth Form
Mosslands is once again in the top performing non-selective school sixth forms in Wirral
Mosslands is once again in the top performing non-selective school sixth forms.
Our average points score per student makes us the best performing sixth form in Wallasey and places us among the very top non-selective schools in Wirral. Here are some examples of our student’s success.
Oxford success
Chris Phillips has gained a place at Christ Church College Oxford to read Physics. Congratulations to Chris who not only had to achieve high grades at A level, but also pass a separate admissions test and pass a rigorous interview at the university. In offering Chris a place to study, tutors at the College commented on his impressive performance at the interview and excellent understanding of Physics. Chris follows hot on the heels of former Mosslands student Curtis Sheen, who has just successfully graduated from Oxford with an honours degree in Physics.
A Level Top Performers
At Mosslands we offer advice and support for every kind of future pathway. One of our two top performers at A level is going to Oxford, the other is taking up a prestigious position in the world of finance on the school leavers’ scheme with Deloitte. Congratulations to Chris Phillips, who will be reading Physics at Christ Church College, Oxford and to Owen Hyland, who beat off tough competition to gain his place with one of the world’s leading finance organisations.
Physio Success
Daniel Peek will be going to Salford to study Physiotherapy. It is seriously hard to gain places on a physiotherapy course, with even a single offer of a place difficult to come by – Daniel received 4 offers before eventually choosing to accept a place at Salford! Good luck Daniel!
Russell Group University Success
Despite increased demand for places, over a quarter of university entrants from Mosslands sixth-form have gained places at some of the top universities in the country, continuing a strong tradition of similar success for our students. Of all students who chose University as their career pathway, 95% successfully gained a place on results day.
Exceptional early A level Success for Alex
Congratulations to Year 12 student Alex Segar on achieving a top A* grade in A level Maths at the end of his first year in sixth form. This involved him doing more than double the amount of work in the year and achieving exceptionally high scores in all the exams. He is also on course for A* grades in his other A levels and a bright future awaits him.
Biochemist and Pharmacist
Congratulations to Liam Forshaw and Luke Dunderdale. Luke will be starting his dream course, Pharmacy, at Liverpool John Moores University and Liam will embark on his Biochemistry studies at Liverpool University, thanks to his achieving three grade As at A Level. This continues the strong tradition of the school in producing outstanding students in the STEM subjects.
